The big day

We managed to survive an entire weekend barely at home for A-jik's wedding. We had the chance to meet and spend time with family from near and far!

Christmas festivities

The Christmas story took on special meaning for us this year. "For unto us a child(ren) is born, unto us a son(s) is given" (paraphrase Showerheads). It is truly awesome to realize that Jesus came to this world as a little baby; that God would send his son to take on all that we have done wrong. Our first CHRISTmass was very special.

After going to our first Christmas Eve service as a family of 4, we all slept in.

Taking a nap after opening all the presents people gave us. Having your first Christmas is tough work!

Almost Christmas

Wow, look at all the babies at church!! That's 9 kids and 12 parents. Soon it will be 11 and 14. I think the parents are barely staying ahead.

Surprise Visitor

Look who Mushi found at the airport? DC was in between flights on his way to join his family for Christmas. He had a quick lesson in feeding, diaper changing and car seats for twins during his layover. We hope we got him back in time for his flight.

Here's a candidate for favourite auntie. Many people are running for the position.

Elusive Booger

3 things that make a new parents' day. :) It's the little triumphs and joys in life that we look forward to. (In no particular order.)


1. Catching a pee/poo in the old diaper, before a new diaper is in place (and wasted).

2. Having your baby finish a bottle of precious EBM (expressed breast milk) that you (the mom) worked so hard for.

3. Getting the elusive booger that goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out ...

You'll be happy to know we won this battle. Still waiting (a few more years) to see if we can win the war. :)

Daily Spa

After the 2nd feed of each day, the boys go through their daily spa routine.

As you can see, they're excited to begin.

First is the facial. Today we begin with Alpha,

Then Bravo gets his turn.

We move on to manicures.

Lotion up their faces with creamy vaseline.

And they're all ready to be photographed.

Whine & Cheese

There was some whining and there was some cheese.

The Sushi Family put together an incredible spread - there were many types of cheeses, lots of tasty treats, veggie dip, fresh baked cinnamon raison bread, yummy fruits, delicious chocolates and so much more.

Mommy and Daddy barely had to hold us all night.

There were so many others willing to. I think they sometimes lost track of us.

Cousin Foxtrot made her social debut as well.

A good time was had by all.

Separation anxiety

Alpha started to "scoot" all around the crib and run into the rails and his brother, so it was time to separate them. Mommy had separation anxiety about the move but Daddy was confident his boys could handle it.

And well they did. They're now in separate cribs, but still enjoy tummy time and the occasional nap together in close quarters.

Waking up

Waking up this morning was like Christmas. Everything outside was covered by a snowy blanket. The clock said 6am which meant it was 7 hours since the twins last feed. Woohoo!! They slept through the night!!! We were VERY excited. No, wait... it's 8am. It's been 9 hours since their last feed!! Mommy slept for 7 hours (which she hasn't done in over half a year). Hopefully this trend continues. We're just thankful for every extra continuous hour of sleep we can get. :)

World AIDS Day

Mommy's involvement with the PWS&D (Presbyterian World Service and Development) committee has taught her many things. December 1st is World AIDS Day.

There are 42 million people living around the world with HIV and AIDS. Of these, 95 per cent are in the developing world. The crisis continues to grow, exacerbating existing emergencies, reversing development gains, and creating new crises on a global scale.

Can you imagine a world without AIDS? Presbyterian churches in Canada can. Hearing the call of church partners in Africa, Asia and Central America for help to cope with the global scourge of the HIV and AIDS pandemic, and responding to God's call, a special appeal was launched to tackle the HIV and AIDS epidemic. The appeal, led by Presbyterian World Service & Development, has raised over $1.4 million as of 30 September, 2007. The money goes to supports global partners in their fight against HIV and AIDS.

Responding to the words of Christ: "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly," (John 10:10) the appeal seeks to bear witness to this life-giving proclamation of hope in the face of raw human reality.

First Snow

When we woke up this morning, there was a light dusting of snow, like icing sugar, on all the rooftops and lawns. Mommy said we had to get all bundled up before we could go outside. Can't wait until we can make snowmen and snow angels and have snowball fights!
