Baby Ducky's Birthday
We all got together to eat and pray on Baby Ducky's first birthday.
Baby Ducky has the best smiles!
We'll be praying for Baby Ducky, her family, the team of surgeons and for her surgery on Thursday. Get well soon!
Thank you Sushi for helping to feed Bravo. Now you can help Wasabi as well.
Thank you, Sushi Family for hosting, providing all the yummy food for everyone and letting us take over your house.
And guess what!?!? By the next morning, Alpha and Bravo had a new cousin, 6lb 14oz. We'll have to see what her parents name her... maybe Charlie?
A Day in the Life
Many people have been asking what a day with the twins is like.
Alpha and Bravo start the day off by sleeping and get woken up to eat, often as daddy is heading out the door.
After mommy finishes feeding them, they each get a bottle and mommy comes up with creative ways to hold up the bottle. (This is where it's very helpful to have another set of hands around).
As Bravo continues his bottle, Alpha finishes his, gets burped and has his diaper changed.
Then he gets some tummy time to strengthen neck muscles and prevent having a flat head (that's what the pamphlet from the nurse says).
While Alpha is working on his neck muscles, Bravo gets burped and changed. (Diaper changes aren't their favourite activity.)
And then it's tummy time/wake time for both.
Today, mommy read them a story about Joseph in Egypt.
Sometimes, they'll watch the mobile, listen to music (usually classical or lullabyes, mommy and daddy get to pick the music played in the car)
or this can be a bath time (if A-ma or dad is around to help). Bravo here with A-ma.
Alpha and Bravo are both starting to enjoy their baths (instead of proving that they have really great lung capacity!). Alpha in this picture.
or time in the bouncey chair (Bravo).
Sometimes Alpha
and Bravo go downstairs to eat or listen to daddy on the phone.
This cycle gets repeated every 3 hours. During weekday nights, A-mas help out. (We LOVE A-mas!) We usually skip out on the tummy time and (hopefully, for mommy and daddy's sake) just go back to sleep. Sometimes Alpha starts the cycle and sometimes Bravo goes first - just depends on who's woken up/crying first.
Yes, it is exhausting, but it's worth every minute of it!
